I have been relaxing in Sankt-Peterburg since friday, back to Oslo today. Of course have been looking for lenses, cameras and accessories I could want to buy (and I bought stuff of course... )

On Avito while searching for Helioses, I came accross a listing for a Helios-27 135mm f2.0 adapted to M42. Never seen that one before. Could not find reviews here on mflenses.

the very expensive price is certainly for the rarity. Seems the lens was produced only in 1952 for kino.

the link will go off some time, so screenshot:

that said, maybe something fishy, out of curiosity I searched Ebay ad there's one listed. But in fact the same: same serial nr.000041, same pictures, but the seller's location doesn't match. The one on Avito is located in SPb but on Ebay location is set at Nizhny Novgorod oblast. This may be ok, like seller moved and didn't update profile location, postal-wise it makes not much difference either in shipping time. But on Ebay the price is way more expensive: 1236 USD but on Avito 59.246 ₽ ~ 822 USD

It looks like a scam to me. Anybody selling a lens for over $1,000 and offering upfront to mark it as a gift is already riding on the wrong side. I certainly wouldn't go for it.

Even if the lens has been modified to M42 mount it doesn't look anything like this Helios-27: https://www.apertureinfo.com/item/helios-27_135mm_f2.html

Ebay seller feedback looks good. Comes with full refund guarantee. I don't know about Avito user feedback or history.

parcels send abroad must have a value declared, this is used for any tax collection in the destination country. It is common for russian sellers to declare either as gift or a small value under the tax treshold. This is regular practice. So that point isn"t fishy at all. Of course for a big price, if you want compensation in case the parcel is lost you must go the regular way.
In fact my soviet stuff either I buy through Avito or some dedicated websites, from Russia or Ukraine, and always ask the seller to cheat the norwegian tax treshold (which becomes zero from next month Sad ...), or I just buy when I am in Russia, which is several times a year (from Oslo it"s a short route good for week-ends). It's totally excluded that norwegian tax can get fat om me buying stuff 50 years old, since long no longer in the commercial circuits and which was manufactured by communists Smile

Oh, the lens description is ok, it's indeed this one:

Yet the difference in prices on Ebay and Avito is weird, but then it's not about the lens itself.
My question was about possible reviews.

It's cine lens it seems. Pretty rare. serial number in the double digits. Collectors item. If you want a 135mm f2 you can get an excellent Samyang for less.

indeed it's kino lens. That's the description on the formula page uploaded by sergtum.
It reads in the header, after the optical and physical figures:

светосильный киносъемочный ie, "fast movieshooting".

I coudn't find opinions/reports about it, even on runet. Here on MFlenses one can usually find any reviews and feedbacks about all kind of lenses, dedicated photo, or enlargers adapted, or kino adapted, and others... so yes rare rarity,,,

actually the two profiles, the one on Ebay and the one on Avito, are the same seller. I just compared now the two listing.

There are some rarities by the way,in soviet lenses, but also few german. And in cameras, for instance couple Lomo Aurora RF ie. earlier 6-cells Sokol for export. This one the same:
Ebay:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-LOMO-AURORA-lens-MC-INDUSTAR-70-2-8x50mm-is-working/202894012884?hash=item2f3d6cf1d4:g:E9MAAOSw2RdeKBRQ
Avito:
https://www.avito.ru/sankt-peterburg/fototehnika/lomo_auroraavrora_shestiglazaya_1864794285
exactly same item, that Aurora #6802284 is sold 180usd on Ebay but 9500rb ~130usd on Avito.

I bought from this seller one or two lenses I guess, nothing to complain.
This lens looks legit, very rare indeed. Question is, isn't it too much to spend for a lens?

Also he has a "Tair-6", which is quite certainly a KMZ Tair-56, but it's the factory's mistake, not his. You can find this lens under regular name OKS1-150-1 by LOMO.
