This past Saturday at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, I used only Meyer lenses. 1.9/58 Primoplan. 2.9/50 Trioplan, and 3.5/180 Primotar.

I like all, but the primoplan has a unique touch.

Very good CA control.

Perhaps the 1,9/58 should be my normal lens

Thanks to all.

papasito: I like the Primoplan very much. It sharpens up very well with only a stop down and at f/5.6 it is plenty sharp and no longer an art lens. Close enough focusing too. I've found it tricky to focus up close with thin depth of field, but when you really nail the focus, it is surprisingly sharp. The Oreston isn't far from the Primoplan as an art lens, and focuses much closer - cheaper too.

It is a wonderful lens indeed! Some of my results here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kds315/albums/72157633569412476

There is an example wide open and at f5.6 even in there, red poppy field

Hello Woodrim

Pink flower in bubbles by Trioplan, you caught them.
One can see, in comparison to the photo of yellow leaf, that one have to look for them.
Nice Autumn you have in Charleston.

Hello macheck. Yes, the small Trioplan is excellent for soap bubbles, but just like with the big Trioplan, the specular highlights must be conducive to making the effect. When I visit the swamp, I look for areas around the water's edge where the sun glistens off swamp scum. The surface there creates very tiny highlights which translate well to bubbles.

The Primoplan worked well there too with bigger bubbles due to the longer focal length and shorter focus distance. Primoplan:

Wow nicely done, I have Primoplan 1.9/58 too, have to test it with my kitchen-pear stand.
