Hi,
I successfully adapted on my Fuji X-t10 the following combo: Helios 44 M39 (http://allphotolenses.com/lenses/item/c_1660.html) mount + M42-M39 Lens mount Step Down ring (http://www.ebay.com/itm/320766637170?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT) + M42-FX helicoid adapter.
Everything works fine, infinity focus ok.
Then I bought the Juniper 3 M39 Leica screw-mount (http://allphotolenses.com/lenses/item/c_280.html) and wanted to achieve the same, so:
Juniper 3 + Leica M39 Lens to M42 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/320766637170?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT) + same M42-FX helicoid adapter as above.
However in this case I lose infinity focus. I must have done something wrong, but do not understand where.
Any ideas?
Thanks. |

The first one is a M39 with M42 registration distance. The second is a true M39 lens, with shorter registration distance, so you just need a real M39 adapter. _________________

Thanks, I just realised it looking at the M39 to FX adapter (which works). It is much shorter than the helicoid adapter....
Unfortunately they all have the bare the M39 name.

I don't think it's a Leica M39 adapter in that listing. You realize that there are two 39mm thread mounts, right? One is identical to M42 except for the thread diameter. We usually refer to it as M39. The other one, Leica 39mm has shorter register distance, 28.8mm vs 45.46mm of M39/M42/PK. We usually call it LTM (for Leica Thread Mount) or L39. It requires a different adapter. |

Yes, now is clear.
I think the only option I have for using helicoids is this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kipon-Leica-M-L-M-lens-to-Fujifilm-X-Pro1-E1-FX-Mount-Adapter-Focusing-Helicoid-/350576352608?hash=item519ffa9d60:m:mIc6ad5eckGVI4WPvhowuHg
Or some cheap alternative.
Thanks. |

There's also a 3rd M39 mount as well, that the old Braun Paxettes used, which has around a 44mm flange distance. _________________ Digital camera I use: Pentax K-3, Fujifilm X-E1
