Good day to you all, It's been a long while since I have been on here - so apologies for that.
Anyway, I picked up this lens on Sunday, on a whim and cannot find anything out about it on the web, it is heavy, purely manual and 28-80mm F3.5 - 4.5.
So is it a great lens, an excellent lens or a pile of c**p, I have my thoughts so let the discussion begin.

Should be a Makinon with high pile of c**p probability especially if found with usual vintage zoom inner haze. _________________ ---------------------------------

Pancolart, hope you are well,
There is no haze and I won't post any pictures yet taken with this lens, although I may tonight when I get home from work.
I cried at my £5 spend on this lens, it looks new & didn't even look like it had ever been attached to a camera, perhaps that should have been the warning to me & my LBA. |

Here is the test result by Popular Photography. Feel free to compare it to others third party zooms of its time.

I agree on the Makinon ID. Haven't used that one but I have the 3.5 version and it's alright at 80mm.

Blotafton, yes, that is the sort of poor results I got and I couldn't get over how badly sharp this lens was at the 28mm end when I fully zoomed the test photo on camera.
So is this lens a best kept secret and never spoken about or do fellow photographers of manual focus lenses really find this Sunagor lens of poor optical quality.
TBH, it knocks socks off of some of my well known glass. |

Try it out in bright sun light and it will be good at something, making orbs of flair! |
