Considering purchasing a circular polarising filter for a project any recommendations, have been looking on evil bay any info gratefully appreciated.

If you purchase from a well known manufacturer like Hoya or B&W you can't go wrong.

If you use a CPL on a super/ultra wide lens, make sure you check if there is vignetting caused by the CPL. You may need to a slim one or an oversize one installed on a step up ring.

Thanks for the replies have just ordered a Hoya one on evil Bay for a reasonable price, did actually find I had an old one but the wrong thread size, so for the price on EB can't complain.
