That German article may say that this is the least sharpest 1.2s in the article but hey it renders beautiful and interesting results. Thanks for sharing these results bigeyes.

Really nice work, and I love this lens! I've always suspected that they got a bad sample for that test.

I really like the first image.
I wish I had a camera to use the Hexanons with, I see them go for a good price fairly often.

Lens Liberation! I like that. Finally a revolutionary movement I can join.

The Konica Hexanon AR 57mm F1.2 is a HOT lens. Very radioactive as far as Gamma radiating lenses go. See here:

Do not carry in your pants.

Am considering a standard FL superfast for my a7ii. Any thoughts on the best values? I do lots of "thing" pictures, not so much portraits. I am mostly interested in sharpness wide open though bokeh, resistance to flare, coma, CA etc a can all be considered in the evaluations. I have done a little research (that's how I found this thread). I am not really into video, but low light snaps could be cool. I have read good things on this Konica, also Minolta 58mm 1.2 and Pentax M 50mm 1.2. Are there any others I should consider? Porst, Auto Revuenon, tomioka, nikkor, canon FD all get mentioned in other sites but comparisons are hard to come by and prices go from expensive to OMG!

Well I did it found a deal on an "as is" Konica hexanon AR 57 1.2 and took a chance. Seller described as "seems to function OK but there is some stuff, black specks, maybe fungus? inside" The photos seemed to be pretty clear glass. Got it for 160 USD. Attached are my first samples with it. JPG straight from camera. 100% crops as indicated. These are all shot wide open, handheld with ambient light.
