Were all sigma xq lenses ys mounts? To make it clearer when any ys mount is taken off there is a t2 thread underneath.
So is the xq the same or are they separate mounts? thanks

I pulled out the one XQ in my collection, and it's not YS. So the answer is no, An XQ series lens does not guarantee it's a YS mount.
I have one YS Sigma, and it's indicated by a "YS" on the label ring.

Buying older Sigma MF lenses on eBay can be challenging. Too many were manufactured both with, and without, desirable YS mounts. From photos it can be most difficult to discern which mount style is being auctioned, and often as not the seller does not know and is completely unaware both of the issue, and of the importance of YS.
