Well i made an offer that i was hoping would not be accepted on the Minolta MD Roxsen Speedbooster, It was accepted and i paid £56 delivered to the UK.
So i went for a walk with my 10month old Baby strapped to my back, ( The only way she would let me leave to go and take pics).
So i went for a quick 1 Hour walk with baby on back, and the NEX7 sporting the Roxsen Booster, and the Rokkor 50mm PG.
First impresions are good, I dont notice to many issues with the quality, and even corners stopped down look pretty decent.
It is so nice to be able to walk with a 50 and have the same effect as full frame, with the added stop of light.
So here are some samples at different appertures.
My view for £56 its a great buy with pretty good quality was not able to see much CA

These samples look quite good actually, there's a good pop in some of your pics and lots of detail!
I have been thinking about buying a speed-booster for my Minolta lenses, but too many samples i looked at could not keep up with the original lens IQ, so it simply did not make sense for me to buy one.
I decided to save up and get the A7 instead some day..... meanwhile i shoot film for the FF experience with Minolta! _________________ My Flickr photostream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/chantalrene/

Very impressive photos. I too would be most interested in seeing shots taken with a 24mm or wider lens. I've been thinking about buying a focal reducer like this for Canon FD for my NEX 7, but mostly so I can use wides with it -- especially my 17mm, which doesn't work at all well by itself with my NEX 7. _________________ Michael

@eddietman, well in fact even if it was a good bargain, it seems you can get it without any negociation around the same price at £54

Probably the same. Probably the only difference is Roxsen is having theirs shipped with their name on it directly from Hong Kong. It's like Rokinon or Vivitar marketing lenses with thier names on them -- although they're made by Samyang.
Now, it might be you're better served getting a Roxsen, since thier eBay ad states: "Roxsen review and tests the quality of every adapter. Our products definitely meet the quality standard and to meeting customer expectation."
If Roxsen is really doing this, then this adds a layer of quality control that you wouldn't otherwise receive. Might be a good enough reason to buy from them. Besides, theirs is priced very competitively. Makes me wonder if it's equivalent to the Zhongyi Type 1 or Type II . . . _________________ Michael
