Excellent shot. Is this the rebranded X-Fujinon?

BTW, why do you need a speed booster with a 1.2 lens? What difference does it make to the image?

No the Fujica is 50 1.2, this one is tomioka but made by Cosina(or that's what I know about it).
About the booster - it makes the lens wider Wink and I like it!

Most probably. The whole Fujica AX series was available under the Porst brand. Since my very first SLR camera adventure was with a Fujica AX, I have some experience with them. However, due to limited possibilities I switched over to Minolta after my first frustration with that make and brand. Their accessories have been very limited at that time (bellows, etc..).

Ups, you have been faster. Obviously it's then a M42 lens?

Well no Smile it is Pentax K mount. M42 are the tomioka models and I am not sure but there is no Porst among them. There is Porst 55 1.4 but the 1.2 is only K mount.

Interesting that Porst offered it also with Fuji AX-mount, although original Fuji lens was at 50mm as you stated correctly.
So under the Porst brand 2 different F1.2 lenses have been sold for the Fujica. Obviously the 55mm version also with other mounts.
It's always a heavy mix-up in lenses only distributed under a brand name compared to the "conventional" camera and lens makers of that time. So actually you never will know for sure who the producer of this lens actually was. It doesn't matter anyway, as long as the lens is good. Wink

Also makes the dof thinner.

Terrific portrait!

It looks very good, sharper-looking than most f/1.2's with good blur in the background. Nice portrait!

Porst 50 1.2 -> rebranded X-Fujinon 50 1.2 but without EBC Coating
Porst 55 1.2 -> Tomioka design but made by Cosina in two different versions (f16 and f22, with the first being better)
Revuenon, Rikenon 55 1.2 -> Tomioka design made by Tomioka

Porst is one of the worst 1.2 lens, skilled photographer like you and beautiful lady makes it to so nice! Beautiful pictures!

The lens turbo adapter changes its character totally Smile As you can see the bokeh becomes very nice. I have tried it without turbo on my nex and on A7 - it is a lens that I will never shoot with, but when I mount it on the turbo - completely different lens!

I had same experience with LT , it's change character pretty well, sometimes add to lens, sometimes make minus. I found best result delivered to me with LT, Pancolar 80mm .

Wonderful images, and obviously a good lens / lens turbo combo. But confusing. Porst generally have a poor reputation, but this changes everything.

I agree with Attila - but:

that's only resolution-wise.

I had this lens and compared it with the Pentax 1.7 and 1.2.
The Porst loses towards the corners and never gets nearly the same resolution - even at 5.6.
Lower contrast too.
... and it renders very softly and therefore it's great for portrait work!
(or anything else where the pastell-look is wanted)

very nice shoot.
I had the tomioka 55mm f1.2, very soft wide open and a little glowy.
your lens perform well.

Smile my Tomioka what I did try was pretty sharp, one of the sharpest 1.2 what I could test.
Shoot at 1.2 always gamble, once come out soft (mostly missfocused) another day comes out pretty well.
I avoid to shoot bellow F2 with any lenses, my wife kill me if I got home with 70% miss focused shoots Smile Smile

The problem with focusing this porst is because of its ... not sure of the word in English but lets say - all of the colors are not focused in one spot and that makes the focus area quite hard to nail. Even with zoom in live view it is hard to focus, add this to the fact that it is 1.2 and the DOF is pretty thin and there you have a lot of miss focused shots. But all of these problems doesn't matter for me because I like the bokeh Smile.
Tomioka 55 1.2 is much better than my porst. I think the porst is only 6 lenses design - pretty simple for 1.2 prime.

This softness is not ok for portraits from my point of view but for video - I like it a lot, even the CAs looks great there.

I much prefer the shots where I can see her lovely eyes.
I prefer the Rokkor 58/1.2, I love it for portraits.

Everybody prefers the Rokkor Wink
