I have had this lens for a while now and have been awaiting an adapter which arrived yesterday.
So - to try it out.
Here is the lens followed by some sample images - quick grabs so nothing special.

You are absolutely right. Not bad at all.
It seems that Yashica made a major step forward in terms of average lens quality after Kyocera took over the Contax line of cameras and lenses. So on average their ML series of lenses is far better compared to their old DX/DS line.

I disagree with that. Yes there are great ML lenses, but great DX and DSM too.

It's lovely lens for the money yes. My only issue is I get a light leak on my C/Y>E adapter when shooting ND100 exposures....!!

It's one of those lenses that slips under the radar, it's very good - maybe not the best in class. But it is in the top bracket. I think I described my Yashica lenses as being like Toyota's, you don't buy one for excitement, you buy one because they do exactly what they say it will do.
