..yesterday. Can you tell me something about them? They both have a Canon FD Mount with "Breech LocK" I was wondering that i was not able to move the Apreture by Hand at the Canon Lens. But I've read that would be normal.

1. Canon Lens FD 50mm 1:1,8

2. Soligor Wide Auto 35mm 1:2,8

as they have an Canon FD mount i am planing to sell, or trade them against something with Minolta MD Mount. But some further Informations about those Lenses may be helpful.

Thanks Gentlemen.

the Canon is the very common kit lens, a very good one as well. To close the aperture off the camera you need to press a small silver button in the mount then flick the lever. I have a rear cap with the centre cut out that I use when looking inside Canon's. Your's looks in very nice condition for an early breechlock lens.

The Soligor also looks nice, according to the best knowledge - this forum - the serial number says it was made by Tokina . Soligor's range from awful to excellent, most of mine are luckily in the good to excellent range, but I don't have that particular one, although I do have a few of the 'chrome eared' lenses and they are the better ones.

I would trade the Soligor for a MD mount Vivitar 28 2.8 ( Komine made ) if you are interested. I have two Vivitars, both in very nice condition.

Your Soligor doesn't have a Canon breech lock mount but a Minolta SR (MD) mount.
Unless I am mistaken, the little circle on the aperture ring past the f16 mark would also seem to indicate it is a MD lens (able to operate in SP mode).

That explains it. Smile I was also not entirely sure about the MD stuff, as by the time the MD system came along very few lenses were made all metal like this Soligor.

Your Canon 50/1.8 appears to be a very late production SC version that was phased in during Canon AE-1 production. Canon changed to polycarbonate plastic for the barrel and made it a bit more compact than earlier versions. It should have five aperture blades vs. the six on earlier versions.

The Soligor originated with Tokina and is a very well regarded lens.
