The lens is in very good shape: no fungus nor scratches, although a general cleaning won't be a bad idea...

Thanks for the info!. I had no idea about manufacturing date. This lens is well engineered and manufactured. I like the ergonomics, even being big and heavy is comfortable to handle.
@Alessandro:
I've got it only a few days but I really like it the most of my 135mm lenses. A pity not having a more common mount, since I cannot use it with the Pentaxes... Thanks for your comment!
@Luis:
Wow, I was just looking for info on how to open it!. It seems not a too complicated ensemble, all the lenses being at the top. I tried to clean some dust specs inside but it seems difficult without disassembly.
Thanks a lot for your offer!!

I am very happy owner of 2 quite different Triotars. Look @ the photo below
From the bottom, all in M42 mount
1. Triotar 4/135 T #3970234
2. Triotar 4/13.5cm T #3117488
3. Biotar 2/5.8cm T #3420237
and just to compare size
4. Sonnar 4/135 single coated #6240992 (razor sharp one)
I appologize for quality of the picture, made a few minutes ago. It's after midnight, will replace with better one.
I posted photo with old Tiotar and Biotar, both are gems even with quite stiff focus ring. But 100% flawless optics. This 2 lenses was only a small part of lot which I've got for less then $40 including shipping. Bokeh from Biotar is much more then outstanding, lens has 17 blades aperture.
My guess is that other forum member has the same lens, but I don't remember who. _________________ Cheers, Voytek |

An old thread revival....
I picked up the larger version of this Triotar that was neglected. Everthing was seized, but after days of soaking with parts breaker, aperture and focus ring began turning. Focus ring is very stiff. I assume the grease has gummed up.
Would like to restore it properly by taking it apart and cleaning and relubing.
Does anyone have info on disassembling this model? _________________ "The eyes are useless when the mind is blind."
