Hi everybody.
I'll certainly buy soon a Sony A7s, meanwhile I'm thinking about the Voigtländer 35mm f/1.2 (that I will use with my Oly E-P5 too). Does someone tried this lens with the A7s ? Does it work well ?

There is no reason it won't work, there are a good number of users of the A7 series that also use the 35/1.2, I do recall seeing a number of pictures with no issues.

yes it works.

the A7s is so good as high ISO though......you don't need the speed, but it's a cool lens anyway.

here WO on plain stock A7:

I will use it on a Oly E-P5 too, so the speed could be more welcome.

It vignettes on the A7 but the S model is supposed to be kinder to wide angle RF lenses. Will you buy the Mk or mk2 model of the lens?

This lens has an exit pupil further from the sensor(image plane) than most RF 35's do, and is much more forgiving because of it.

I could post images to show what I'm talking about but either way, it should do a lot better on the A7s model.

definitely an awesome lens and pretty sharp wide open as well. Even better if you use it with the helicoid adapter to get closer focusing

these were shot wide open (or 1.4) + A7R

and this one with the helicoid turned for closer focusing

I have a couple different ones. The Hawk's v5 will give you more features with infinity stops adjustments but is also more expensive.

I have the Hawk's adapter as well as an ebay knockoff one for much cheaper which works fine IMO

Nobody with A7 should buy the above adapter, as it will vignette with many lenses WO. It's made for Nex throat and APS-C sensor.

The plain no helicoid adapters are usually fine in this respect. If you want close focus, hawks v3 is best, for sure.

I have both so I can do quick comparision with same lens when I get the chance. Most lens do have some vignetting when shot WO but I'll see if the adatpers will have more or less
