These are far from my best but I didn't want to upset them with a lot of flash setup. I only snapped 4 pictures and I like these the best of the 4.

I will take some good shots right off.

Flek 35mm f/2.4

Nice shots Ron.
You sure do get nice colors with that lens.
To bad the fish didn't want to come out and play.

nice shots Ron
doesn't the big fish eat all those baby fish ?
I though they had to stay in a separate box

Thanks Mike and Bill. The only problem I'm having with aquarium pictures is that the viewfinder gets darker as you stop down. Outdoors that isn't a problem but in an aquarium it makes focusing difficult but I'll work it out.

Poilu, This family of fish (cichlids) is studied world wide at universities for their parental behavior. Both parents tend the eggs and babies with the male spending most of his time defending their territory. If the male gets more than he can handle the female will rush right out and fight beside him. These, dovii, are amongst the largest of the family and probable the most aggressive. They can reach 24 inches (61 cm) in an aquarium. The largest ever caught in the wild was 41 inches (104 cm ). When they get a little bigger than these young ones, they have a full set of teeth with canines as big as your average dog. They are the most intelligent of the cichlids and can become real pets to their owner but you do not put your hands in the aquarium when they have babies.

These are fun Ron - great shots. Clearly you are getting the hang of that lovely Flektogon.

Thanks Patrick and Attila.

I have been really pressed for time lately. As soon as I get a little more time I will get some nice fish shots.
