Tiny lens that cost me 4ukp. It's for a 1/2" sensor but luckily covers the Q7's 1/1.7" sensor with only the tiniest bit of vignette. Sharpness, contrast and lack of distortion are all great. This is roughly equivalent to a 28mm lens of 35mm fullframe.

I've got a 4mm Computar with the same IQ as this but it doesn't cover the Q7 sensor. Should be fine on the Q though. It was CS mount but I adapted it to Q by drilling out a D mount adapter. It was a electronic iris but I converted it to a fixed iris by removing the electronics and iris mechanism and adding a fixed stop made from a disk of black paper. Not sure what the aperture is now, probably around f2.8
That's the coverage on the Q7 sensor, should be okay on the Q. If you'd like it, you can have it for the postage cost. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

I have a feeling small sensor interchangeable lens cameras has good future. Probably smart to stock up on those tiny, interesting lenses! |

Yes, smaller sensor ICs do have a future, I'm sure.
However, we're a bit late to stock up on suitable lenses cheap, the ebay prices today are often 10x what they were a couple of years ago. Bargains can still be had, but most sellers now are asking high prices.
The Japanese brands like Fujinon, Computar (Kowa) and Cosmicar (Ricoh Pentax) are still affordable but the European brands like Zeiss Jena (especially Tevidons), TT&H/Cooke, Dallmeyer, Kern, SOM Berthiot, Angenieux, Meopta and Schneider have gone through the roof.
It's due to the video shooters using them on the Lumix GH series in ETC mode or on the new Black Magic Pocket camera. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

It's too bad I'm so late in the game haha!
I saw a nice looking kit of cine ektar's and was prepared to buy but that auction really took speed.
It was 15mm, 25mm and 63mm. Really clean and good looking lenses. |

Cheers. I have a 3.6mm Computar to try next, fingers crossed it's as nice as this 6mm and the 8.5mm.
Computars and Cosmicars are still cheap if you look, a good place is to look at auctions of cctv cameras and look what lens is on the front. Avoid electronic iris ones, only manual iris types are really worth using. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |
