Hi, I got a Samsung Galaxy S4 mini phone in the summer and I've been rooting through the apps available. Two stand out: Light meter free and Camera remote. Both work great. The remote is simple as can be and is very useful. Normally I use sunny 16 with my old film cameras but this meter takes care of tricky situations.

The light meter app is easy to use and is selectable between incident and reflected. In reflected there is a handy zoom function. My only gripe is that it keeps defaulting to ISO 100, but thats not a problem with film I suppose.

When you go on to the page linked above and click on 'more' you see a list of compatible devices suitable for this app.

About as easy as it gets. You need an infra red 'blaster' on your phone whatever that is. It took a while to get used to it; you don't just jab the button, you hold your thumb on it as first it must focus then take the picture. I love the timer too. If you get the paid version you have more devices that can use it. I guess I was lucky!

I use the same light meter app when i don't have my weston master and i get very good results, yes it is annoying that it changes to iso 100 every time but not a real problem i find it very accurate.

I can only say the same: after testing about 5 different free lightmetering apps for Android i kept this one, i compared exposure values in various situations with a Minolta X700 camera and Canon 5D, the readings all come very close or even spot-on.

I use the zoom function to match the actual field of view of the lens/camera i use, it sometimes changes the exposure values, depending on light situations.
