I found a couple of cheap USSR projector lenses in my city (I live in post soviet union and there are a lot of them). Bought it and started to convert them all to Canon EOS.
First lens was Triar-3 85mm f2.8. The lens has single coating, triplet scheme, Plastic case with cap and good, solid metal lens block. Little pice of metall and glass in big plastic housing. After some thought I choose old Helios 44-2 as new lens helicoid. It fits perfect to lens block. I found no good conversion samples on the net and decided to write my one.
Seems photo of process tell more about conversion than my poor english)))
Original lens helicoid.
Cut it to fit perfect into metal ring that will cover plastic case of Triar.
Also this metall rind perfect fit to helios helicoid.
Then i glued them all with epoxy glue. Thats all!)
New lens have infinity and m42 screw.

All of them are post-processed, but lens seems good.

Thanks! But colours is post-processed in raw converter. It's my standard processing. Sharpness added after crop to 2000x1333. _________________ SLR:Canon: 5D II; Canon 450D; Zenit TTL; Canon 500N; Pentax SPII; Zenit 122;

You need helicoid to focusing and some work with old lens barrel. _________________ SLR:Canon: 5D II; Canon 450D; Zenit TTL; Canon 500N; Pentax SPII; Zenit 122;
