Have tested a Yashica Yashinon-DX 50mm f/2 which has a M42 mount.

Below are some of the test shots taken with this lens.
The B&W pictures are analog and are taken with a Yashica TL Electro X, AGFA CINEREX (X-ray film) and developed in X-tol.
Color shots are digital and are taken with a Canon 500D with lens mount adapter.

My review has more and hires images and can be found here if you're interested: http://www.blog.bkspicture.com/review_Yashica_Yashinon-DX_50mm_f2_M42.html

A very good lens often overlooked.

The bokeh looks harsher than my ML version, but sharpness looks better.

I think I got a bad copy since mine is nowhere near as sharp as my Helios 44's.

I would expect that the ML version would be a better lens because if I'm not mistaking this series is some decades newer.
And hopefully they got better and not worse at making them Smile
Have tested some other old Yashica lenses and bokeh is not always there strong part.
I do however find the bokeh quite pleasing on this 50/2.

Many thanks for all the nice feedback and comments and keep snapping!
