Removing the adhesive from adapter chip contacts

I bought this adapter from Big_is and had issues with it right from the beginning.

I'll usually get 00 as the current aperture value. Trying to take a photo will give me "Err: 01 Communications between the camera and lens is faulty". To make things work I need to move the lens about, to "re-seat" it, and eventually the correct aperture will appear letting me take photographs.

Unfortunately, sometimes it'll disconnect again and again during normal operation (when focusing for example) making the use of it quite unpredictable.

Since cleaning gave no results I shot a closeup of the chip and here is what it looks like:

You'll notice the glue smudge running throughout all the contacts. The question is: do you have any suggestions on how to remove it without damaging the contact surface? Some kind of solvent or magic trick?

Tried to sort this out with the seller but all I got was partial refund and no answers. I don't even know what type of adhesive this is.

Kido,

It's ordinary epoxy glue.
Hot a little bit with a hair dryer, and cleaning up with a cotton tissue with alcohol will work,

Cheers,

Renato

Great! Thanks for the tip. I'll let you know if it worked.

I have had the same problem with one of my afchips from big_is. I scrapped it off with an exacto knife. There was enough gold plating left that I had no worries. Worked in my case.
