Lens of the week No.2 14/4/08 Meyer/ Pentacon 135mm f2.8

I hope no one minds if I start the new week off with this lens. Atilla brought it to my attention as the "Bokeh Monster" and felt I had to try it, especially as it can usually be found quite cheaply, (although one copy changed hands for quite a lot a few months ago I seem to remember) Please say whether yours is the Pentacon zebra or Meyer. Also if you have the pentacon all black non zebra version please indicate this as it would be nice to compare see what the differences are. I believe it is optically different.

They are optically different true, this is the best version, better than Meyer and better than MC, but I am not really sure.

The concept of this 'Lens of the week' is brilliant but seems not popular
Maybe because Bob started on Monday giving people not enough time to go out and take photos (assuming we all work during week days) - that was my case anyway.
Hopefully there will be more photos after the weekend.

This morning I took out my black electric to the local park.
I personally prefer CZJ Sonar over the Pentacon but still it is a decent lens.
Reasonably sharp and has good bokeh. But the CA is not well controlled and lacks contrast.

Nice captures! This lens is an excellent portrait lens on other fields not perform same well.
