Can anyone offer me counsel regarding cameflex to m4/3 adapters? They are quite expensive and I'm totally unfamiliar with these things and with any possible pitfalls or hazzards. Here is a reference:

I acknowledge sales of these things are heavy, so people are using them. Also, there are a great many watchers. But I searched this forum for "cameflex" and came up completely empty. My target camera body is Olympus E-PL1.

You can always ask the seller if you are not familiar with the adapter. BTW, which Cameflex lens you have? _________________ https://www.instagram.com/_lens_fever/

None as yet, calvin83. I am researching a lens buying possibility and, frankly, going a bit batty.
Despite my very best efforts, I've so far been unable to learn the FFD (or, if you prefer, FFL) for the cameflex mount. Boy, this is hard!! The reward could be great if I can figure this out. But time is very limited.
ETA
GOT IT! (I think)
Looks like 48mm.
And it's Caméflex, not cameflex. I need to study up on my French!
Anyway, a very useful FFD. |

There is nothing new in that, I guess. Beautiful lens. Tough loss. But I bid as high as I could afford. It was mine for five seconds, then I lost it.
Anyway, I learned about the Caméflex mount and the m4/3 adapter for the Caméflex mount.
Anyone else ever needs to know, the Caméflex mount appears (at least to me) to be a highly adaptable mount type.
I'm pretty sure about my finding of 48mm for the registration distance. But if you disagree, please post.
Just one final note on this lens;
Apparently, provided one has the parts, this lens can be converted over to C mount. However, any such mount changeover requires re-collimation of the lens, which must be done by a qualified and properly equipped lens technician. Thus, it's easier and better IMO merely to use an adapter if you have a lens with an existing Caméflex mount. |

Thanks, calvin83. That makes me feel a little better.
Were it not for the single, final, bidder, just a single bidder, I would have owned the lens for $2.25. For that kind of money I'd have been happy to take my chances. Lenses like this are routinely going for hundreds of dollars.
Of course, with the m4/3 adapter costing circa $150, maybe I'm better off. |
