This month is the best time for taking photo of the blooming of the sacred lotus. I have see lots of the photo of sacred lotus in photo sharing sites and forums in south of the Great China. Most people will consider morning as the best time for photographing lotus because the flower will close up when before the noon. However, it is possible to have some nice photos in the late afternoon if we do mine the flower is not blooming.

Here is my first attempt on taking a series of sacred lotus with my NEX 5N. All photos processed in LR 5.4.

This is where the lotus growth. Usually, the lotus are growth in water pond but the small one can also growth in big pots.


I should wake up in the morning next year...

Thank you, Klaus! You might see more from these photos if you treat the lotus and the leaves as humans.
