Greetings and salutations fellow manual lens users. Smile

I recently bought a Tokina 135mm f2.8 Tele-Auto m42 lens which I sadly haven't found much info about. I'm interested what vintage this lens has etc. Smile

Therefore I decided to ask the experts here. Smile

I'm uploading some pics of said lens. Smile

I saw one of these, or very similar in a San Francisco thrift shop.

I would guess mid to later 1970's, maybe 1976-79.

This is very similar to a model sold by Sears in several mounts I believe.

It would also be interesting to check vs a Vivitar of the same period.

My Sears 135/2.8 is an earlier version, with different, all metal grip and location of aperture and M-A rings, but still with a family resemblance in details of engraving, etc.

Thank you for the input! Very Happy

Sadly my D80 is at the repairshop for a well needed cleaning (haven't found the cleaning solutions needed for wet method yet...silly Sweden) so any proper samples haven't been done.

Early tests indicated that it's rather prone to CA, and a glowing blur at f2.8. Nevertheless, I paid Ł15 for it + shipping so it should be a good portrait lens for those mugshots Razz

When camera returns, be sure to look here for real world samples (no brick walls here). Wink
