Nikon to Canon Adapters? 2014 Rehash

Few years ago I was recommended to an ebay seller and got two surprisingly snug nikon to canon adapters for pretty cheap. These were the standard type you see with the little spring loaded tab

Im now in need of a few more adapters and saw fotodiox was selling something a bit different:

They also have the same adapter with an AF confirm chip which Im not sure if I really need:

Ill be mounting mostly nikon AI glass on a canon 5d MKiii - how do these styles adapters vary - advantages / disadvantages?

I need something for quality video work (no slop at all) but dont really want to dish out 80 bucks for one of the expensive ones.....especially if Im going leave one on every lens!

I just checked my own and the ones from big_is look identical to these you've linked to. If they are the same design and measurements, they are a very snug fit. I can't fault mine.
I should add, I buy an adapter for each lens I own, so I never need to remove them. I'd imagine it wouldn't be an easy task to get some of these off, that's how snug the fit is.

I bought a Nikon-EOS adapter a few years ago from a Chinese seller on eBay and it has worked well, although I did have to adjust it for snugness. I've found that it is important not to get it too tight or else it becomes very difficult to get off. So I leave mine just a bit loose.

As for Fotodiox, I don't have any experience with their Nikon-EOS adapter, but I do own a Fotodiox Canon FD-EOS adapter, and I've found that its quality is better than what is typically available. I also owne a Bower brand unit that is sub-par compared to the Fotodiox. It is better both optically and mechanically than the Bower. So I would be inclined to try a Fotodiox brand, even though it will probably cost more.

I use the Big_Is adapters on all of my Nikkors. Not perfect but good enough.
You can put a tiny piece of thick paper in between the lens and adapter, that makes the fit rock solid!

Mine is from Big_Is as well and fits perfectly, but getting it off the lens...
