there are cheap tilt adapters for SLR lenses available for NEX. I wonder how well they would work or not when used on a FF A7/r. Has anyone tried?

Never tired but I am pretty sure most of them are not designed for FF. Lenses within 60mm may not have enough coverage when tilted. Even you put a shift lens on the tilt adapter, the interior size of the adapter may block part of the image.

I have one gathering dust in the cupboard. However, if you adapt a larger lens to the Nikon mount, and then onward to the T/S, you sidestep the image circle problem, and there's enough room internally to accommodate some movement.

I have a cheap chinese one for Nikon-NEX, works without problems on A7 with lenses which have enough coverage.
It's similar or identical to this one Click here to see on Ebay.de

with Nikon 180/2.8 ED
With slightly stronger tilt it starts to vignett heavily due an internal shade of the lens. But that has nothing to do with the adapter Wink
