mixed information: does it work?

most sources mention just 1D series

I have the EC-A on my 6D and it works great. Tried the EG-S from Canon and its not as easy to get critical focus as with the EC-A.

Are both exactly the same size and shape?

focusingscreen.com cuts EOS-1 screens to match the size of the model you are replacing. So it is a size/fit replacement.
