Very good quality, perhaps even outperforms the Tokina 100/2.8.

I like the last one very much Smile

Thanks, Lena. I should make more of an effort and take my Tamron 90SP there, just to see if there's any difference. I've never used the Tokina.

I did some research on the web while looking for a macro lens for myself and then the decision was Tokina, since I liked the colours and bokeh. The sharpness was said to be comparable to Sigma. Now I got a Vivitar Series 1 90/2.5 quite cheaply due to some issues and Tokina's place in my bag is seriously endangered. They say you can't go wrong with any of the macro lenses from the major manufacturers in the range 90-105, so pick up the one that appeals to you most. It will be very interesting to see how your Tamron compares to the Sigma, if you find the time to post some more samples.

They come across really well especially the middle flower. I would be curious to see how it stacks up against the Tamron SP 90....but as we know each lens has its own charm, and for an AF lens focused manually it did very well.

How does it fare if it focuses itself?

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzt:SLAM:Zzzzzzzzzzzzzt:SLAM:Zzzzzzzt:Zzzt:Zt Very Happy And that's with the 'focus limiter' engaged !

When it finally makes up its mind, it's usually pretty much correct but it really struggles with three-dimensional subjects. And it simply couldn't lock onto the little spider at all. However, it distances over a meter it does better than I can.

your Vivitar is also a Tokina and famous for it's bokeh.. that's why they call it Bokina. Wink
