Can someone describe in steps how they do the AE lock? I'm not quite sure I'm doing it right as the exposure changes. Maybe I have that setting in the screen where it changes? I think I need to set it so it doesn't change?
But anyway, I *THINK* the procedure is like this:

Look through viewfinder
Press halfway for exposure
Press with them the AE/AL button that is to the top right of the screen

Is that right?

Sort of but…

You have to go in to the menu system and enable AEL toggle.

Find Custom Key Settings (cogs – 6) and assign AEL toggle to in this case the AEL-button.
Then you can point the camera and press the AEL-button and have the exposure locked. You unlock it by pressing the same button once more. I have this function assigned to the C2-button.

You will see a * in the lower right corner when the exposure is locked.
