Does this publication have any history of the company's evolution, or is it only a list of types, qquantities and dates?

There is a few intro pages about Carl Zeiss.

Thanks, Klaus. What I'm really lookiing for is an English-language business history of the Zeiss organisation prior to the division of Germany in 1945.

Very good is the "Zeiss Collector's Guide to Cameras, 1940-71", Mark James Small + Charlie Barringer
but only back to 1940.

Do you know that source? http://www.company7.com/zeiss/history.html and
http://corporate.zeiss.com/corporate/en_de/history/company%20history/at-a-glance.html

Thanks for those links, Klaus. I have Felix Auerbach's book The Zeiss Works but that only takes an outline account up to the the mid-1920s. All extra leads are welcome.
