I may be wrong but this looks a bit 3D to me. Durham Cathedral square, sunny and cold. Adjustments to light, shadows and mid-tone contrast. Camera set up for extended dynamic range.

I'm never quite sure what people mean by "3D" but this is one of a group of very nice clean, crisp pictures in your Flickr set.

Nothing wrong with the kit lens. It's a great performer and wide enough for most purposes.

I never thought a kit lens would perform like this. In the last shot, every digital camera I have owned previously would have shown a profusion of purple on those overhanging tree branches.

I just need to get a handle on manually focusing on the old M42 lenses now. The instruction book isn't very good. Crying or Very sad At least it is not very good in about 10 languages, I suppose.
