I`ve received a very nice and fully working Minolta XD7 and noticed that the ring that is responsible for the diaphragm coupling is not moving freely as it should . I first fought that the problem was in the spring. I`ve checked it ,but everything was OK. The ring moved very nicely without the mount. Put everything together, but the problem remained. I noticed that when I partly unscrew the mount ring the ring starts moving as it should but also does the mount. I`m stumped and do not know where might the problem be. Any of you have some ideas?

This isn't exactly XD-7, but it might help ?

I've got a couple of XD-7's and I'm sure I've got the right service manual somewhere, but it could be on a different computer. Confused

maybe here as well?

There's nothing on that link, I've just looked again, but some of the other stuff might be interesting. I've found the link I had to the XD-7 repair and service manual, but it's a link to buy it -

I did have a look at the XD-11 repair guide, but there is no info there. This problem is somewhat unusual cause it`s not one of the common issues that Minolta cameras have, a.k.a non electrical issue. I did dismantle my X-700 to see if there might be some part that is missing from my XD7, but everything is present. As far as I know the problem is that the lens mount, when it is screwed in tightly, restricts the movement of the coupling ring.
