I'm really curious about image diameter of this lens. Anyone have a clue?
I heard some people say it's actually based off a MF lens to prevent vignetting?

ALPA FPS accepts Nikon lenses, in combination with a iq180 it could produce some awesome results.

Just curious, what it is it about image diameter that intrigues you?

I want to mount one on a 645 camera.

The ALPA FPS makes it possible to mount 35mm lenses on medium format digital backs such as the 80 megapixel phase one iq180.
The fastest available MF lens right now is the 80mm 1.9 Mamiya which is a bit soft wide open. The Zeiss would kick its butt all over the place.

Here's an attempt with Canon 85mm 1.2 / iq180

Vignetting is pretty visible on a D3x(see below). I do not think the image circle of this lens will be large enough for use on a 645 camera.

Nope, I sincerely doubt that it has a usefully large circle, especially knowing
its design (Distagon) and short focal length (55mm).

Why don't you ask Zeiss, they are not shy with data...?
