google Gamma Mayar 105. You will find a very interesting story about the inventor. Your lens may not be an enlarger lens after all, possibly something else. |

In the year of 1940 Majoros Sándor worked at Gamma Optikai Múvék with Barabás Jánossal (1900-1973) and together they planned three or four camera objectives. From these, one went to be the first Duflex 1:3,5 normal objective , which was first named Artar , and after named Gammar. Majoros Sándor by that time had several tasks. He made also a greater aperture version, the f/2 -50mm that also Duflex used in an another version. In 1950 he too designed the Gamma greater focal length lenses (50, 75 and 105 mm), named Mayar , Magnetite objectives. Although he had made great works, none of these were publicly reported.
I guess you did find also this ? Right ? _________________ -------------------------------

Here [ http://cgi.ebay.com/Gamma-Hungarian-Duflex-3-5-5cm-Gammar-Lens-/230567784078 ] is a Gamma Duflex camera on eBay. Buy-It-Now price: US$6500. Plus $40 shipping from Germany to USA. What, he can't eat the shipping on that ?!?!?
And that is the price for USA buyers. EU buyers also must pay 19% VAT. That makes US$7735. Ay yi yi. Who thinks it is worth that much? _________________ Too many film+digi cams+lenses, oh my -- Pentax K20D, K-1000, M42s, more

Seller is well known here. Seems he have buyers , because he is long time ago in business even if his prices minimum double than usual. Count him like fashion shop owners. They sell crap for 100X price too.
Here in my country a Duflex price around 2500-5000 USD. _________________ -------------------------------

if it is the duflex, it would have to screw on in front of the shutter. I dont have experience of this model to know.
I await with interest |

The duflex was the first SLR with metal focal plane shutter. That lens has no focusing barrel - at the very best it might be part of a Duflex lens. Given that Gamma was quite a major manufacturer, there is little doubt that they had more 105mm lenses than the Duflex one. _________________ Sevo |
