[AF]

Two or three days after the ice storm that knocked our power out we got about 5 inches of snow. Not much snow, but on top of the ice laden trees it made sure our power stayed off with the broken limbs and trees.

EOS 1V-HS Kodak gold 100 from 2009. I keep it in the freezer. Shot at ASA 64

Click for full size. (I think)

It warmed up to about 12F to18F and the boys were enjoying the warm sun

Beautiful images, the kodak gold 100 seems to be a great film, every image I see taken with it has nice fine detail. I love the ones of your dogs in the light, you must be very happy how these turned out.

Thanks for your reply Mo.

The Kodak 100 is one of my favorite films. It does always seem to work out well. I wish they still made it. I have 35 or so rolls in the freezer.

It has been so cold and dark here this winter that the dogs love to get out in the sun and play until their feet get cold, then we go in and get warmed up, and of course they have to have a little treat.

I see you are in for some more freezing temperatures in the coming days. How did the camera handle the cooler temps any issues? or was it just cold fingers Very Happy

We are pretty much used to this kind of weather here where I live in Maine. Further south it causes a lot more problems as a rule. It is snowing so hard out right now you can hardly see. They have it a lot worse than we do the further north you go into Canada.

The cameras all seem to handle the cold well. Never had a problem although when its -20 F I am not out shooting for very long. I just set them in a chair and put my coat around them fairly tight and leave them for 20 minutes or so. Seems to work.

Nice crisp results, Ron, and KG100 colors! Too bad the film is no longer made.

Had a similar string of events about 10 years ago. Ice storm followed by a snow storm. Power was out for 10 days at my house and I had to keep a fire going in the fireplace to help keep a little heat in the house so the pipes would not break. Sounded like a war zone for a day or two with all the limbs and treetops snapping off. Still have a 12" diameter tree with a sever bend in it. It is about 60 feet tall and the top was bent over touching my driveway because of all the weight.

Glad you made the best of it and went out shooting. Makes me long for Spring.

Thanks Bill. I also wish they made it still. Such a nice film and they got rid of it and kept crap. I shouldn't say it that way. I mean for inexpensive film. I love Ektar and the Portra's especially 400.

Nice to see you around Michael. Been a while.

Thanks and I want spring bad also.

The storm you are talking about must be the same one we had years ago. It was hell. Good thing I was home to keep the wood stove going.
