I guess the adapter spoils the IQ to a fair extent. I've not seen this lens before, is it a big beast?

Bokeh, bokeh, bokeh - oi, oi oi!
Pity about the problems as there are some redeeming features.
So, would you keep it, or take a bokeh library of different colours and textures for use with other pictures and then move it on ...
Thanks for the images
OH

I find that FD mounts can be very easy to adapt to PK mount (non-destructively), and this should be true for Nikon also. Even easier i think, as there is less need for spacers to adjust for infinity. You may be able to screw a glassless M42-Nikon flanged adapter in place after you remove the FD mount.

That was a hellova lens in its day,

Quote:
Tokina only sold about 1,000 of these in USA over 10 years. At its peak, they only sold about 10 per month in the USA.

When new, it sold for just over $1,000 at deep NYC discount at places like B&H Photo Video. In 2008, they go for about $400 used

And Ken seems to like it. Wink The bokeh is spectacular, and the sharpness is better that expected from a huge old zoom. That's a lens that looks like it's worth persevering with, it could be interesting.
