I have one - not exactly this "brand", but the idea is the same - for my nex, and I found it extremely useful for all those situations in which the LCD screen was hard to use - e.g. in strong sunlight - and I really enjoyed it: besides screening from light, the slight magnification it offers can be useful when focusing, and the third balance point offers better stabilization than holding the nex in front of your head.
On the other hand, it makes the nex quite big, which is not always good, and you need to unscrew it to use the tiltable lcd screen.

I don't see many advantages in using it on a DSLR with OVF, though.

I have an identical one which wouldnt focus on my screen with or without my glasses. I cut off the lens and had to extend it almost 2cm before it would focus. There is no adjustment.

They are big, clumsy and easily fall off in use. I'd rather use my DSLR than my NEX with one of these on. For me a waste of time,
