I shot these on the NEX-6 coupled with the Nikkor 35mm 1.4 AI-s lens, now normally I would have shot it straight on the NEX-6 using the F to E-mount adapter but for some reason this lens won't focus to infinity when mounted that way - so I used the FD-mount 'Lens Turbo' adapter and an F to FD converter stacked between the lens and the LT.

I also did a little review of this setup on my blog which you can check out here.

These were taken around Lichfield, UK last week, I hope you like them Smile

Seems to be a very nice low-light combi! I especially like the last picture.

How is the combo at 1.4?

Not great, the lens shows typical strangeness wide open but at f2 it's back to its old sharp self. The LT makes f2 more like 1.4 though so no big loss.

Thanks! It's a great combination that's nice and wide thanks to the Lens Turbo.

Yea I have the AI 35/1.4 and its a great lens but doesn't like backlit, point light sources very much. You'll find blue fringing common in backlit situations and some coma/bloom. It is fairly sharp at f1.4 though and the contrast really picks up at f2 onwards. I think there are better 35s for the money (like the samyang) but you will struggle to find an alternative full frame 35mm f1.4 in such a compact size.

Great night photos btw! I didn't think to stop it down (to f2) when on a lens turbo. The lens turbo genenrally doesn't do the inherent blue fringing/coma on digital any favours.

Thanks! Yep you're spot-on about the f1.4 CA/fringing/grossness getting worse with the LT, but thankfully I rarely need to use it wide open.

I had the Samyang on my 5D, tried it on the A7 but I couldn't get over the sheer size of it compared to the Nikon. I've sold it now anyway, I don't miss it Smile

For me it was a toss-up between the Nikon and the Voigtlander, with my decision going with the former purely because I couldn't find a decent quality second-hand Voigtlander in the UK for a good price - the Nikon won in that respect and I really don't regret it Smile
