I'm downloading it now. I am always interested in stuff like this... downloaded... Just had a brief read of this book. Its very specialised and a little outside my league. Good quality, well written and very informative
I wonder why this guy has offered a free download and question the wisdom of it. I have co-written and edited a few books and noticed the sales plunge when a download is offered - free or otherwise. The market is very small for a book such as this and giving away copies makes the market even smaller.
Personally I'd get more books printed while offering a heavily edited sampler to download. Which is what I've done once and will do again when the new book is launched in June 2014 _________________ Hero in the 'messin-with-cameras-for-the-hell-of-it department'. Official. |

Thanks for that. I was more interested in the actual publication and didn't really read his web page. I understand his reasons now. Especially if he has sold off all his residual stock. _________________ Hero in the 'messin-with-cameras-for-the-hell-of-it department'. Official. |

Page 115 of that .pdf reveals a developer designed for making contrast reducing masks for printing transparencies. I am the author of that formula, and now that formula is as dead as I will be in 15-20 years:) |

if you can find a first edition of Steve Anchell's "The Darkroom Cookbook", there is a ton of my stuff in it (I proofread and made many corrections in that first edition). My most popular one is "Muir's Blue-Black Paper Developer". Just do a google search for Maxim Muir and developers, and you will find it and many others. |

CTain is some sort a legend among lab technicians, he is a very knowledgeable man, also an excellent photographer.
It's a pleasure to know that a person who contributed to his book is a forum member - as we use to say in portuguese, knowledge is never enough
Cheers,
