I'm sure that this is old news to most viewers here, but I found it useful so thought to post it.
You can date any Schneider-Kreuznach lens by its serial number from this chart:
http://www.schneideroptics.com/info/age_of_lenses/

Here is an example - made between Nov 1968 and July 1970:

Or, to have it exact. buy Thiele's books Schneider-Kreuznach Volume I, II, III. An investment for a collector's life!

Well no need to take them to an expensive restaurant or something, they are quite happy to go for a stroll in the park Smile
