Well now this is interesting (if you're into Tamron Adaptall-2 and SP lenses of course ).
I have picked up a Tamron SP-200 teleconverter. Now this is a model not documented by adaptall-2.org, but seemingly the same as the rather hard to find SP-200F. Unfortunately, because the SP-200F copies are rather thin on the ground, there isn't a lot of info available. Someone on pentaxforums has a SP-200F with a serial beginning with 5. Mine begins with 4...I wonder if there is a link to the model number?
Anyway, without further ado, here is the teleconverter in question:
Once the weather cheers up, I will test this with the only compatible lens I have left, the SP 500/8 mirror 55BB. _________________ Graham - Moderator

And then there were two! Judging by my copy's serial number, there were at least 228 more as well

i think tamron made more. may be each batch 5-600 pieces
i just got my 200f. serial starts with 6...
it was bundled with the 300/2.8 model 60b in one package.
the seller keep the lens and let me keep the tc.
so there is no dedicate case for it. |

It is worth noting that the 200/200F were made specifically for the models: 60B-65B (according to Tamron on their "discontinued" page). If you read the hyphen as 60B "through" 65B then that would also include the model 63B (SP 180mm f2.5 LD-IF). The 140F was the 1.4x teleconverter made specifically for those same lenses. The 60B is the SP 300mm f2.8 LD-IF and the 65B is the SP 400mm f4 LD-IF.
These are highly rated TCs for those long lenses. I believe that comparing them to the 01F would be an apples to oranges comparison. _________________ DSLR: Pentax K-3 II, D-BG5 grip, SLR: Pentax SP500, Pentax SP, Pentax SP II, Pentax Spotmatic F, MX, ME-Super, Super Program, pZ-1

Is this a proper AD2 TC? I bought a 2x converter with my 500mm 55BB mirror lens, but mine was Canon FD mount, so I can't use mine with my Nikon D600. |
