Hi all, a friend of mine is asking me which scanner to buy because she wants to scan several family pictures (actual prints, not negatives) but wants the best quality possible in terms of colour and resolution.

Since I haven't scanned any photo in a few years, I was wondering if you could recommend me some options.

Thanks

To scan prints any scanner is good enough what is available today I think and they are more less same, due media has no hi resolution at all.

Thanks Attila, I think the same as you and by checking some specs from manufacturers, most of them are very similar.

Just was wondering if I was missing something or someone had good experience (better than the rest) with a specific scanner.

Thanks again.

Friend might like a 3-in-one scanner-copier-printerm for extended versatility... Document scans from my Epson CX8400 ($50, refurbished with warranty from Epson) seem as fine as document scans from my Epson V500 film scanner. Plus -- CX8400 printer uses separate cartridges for each color, so when one color runs out, no need to buy expensive multi-color cart, only buy one color.
