I noticed there are at least two lenses in different brands have very similar construction to the Yashica Reflex 500mm. They have same MFD and same filters.

Yashica Reflex

Panagor Reflex (also found in Osawa brand)

Anyone here have ideas if they are made by the same lens made by the same maker? Or they use the same barrel but different optical construction?

You never know unless you test them side by site. I tested the Yashica ML 500/8 against a Tokina 500/8, and the Yashica wins hands down. Compared to the Russian Rubinar MC lens, it's a tie. However, most third-party, unknown-brand mirrors I tried (Focal, JC Penny etc.) were junk, trash, utter crap or nuclear waste. (That does not include the Tamron 500/8, of course, as that one is a great mirror lens).

I remember there is an ads on Panagor Reflex mentioned it is possible the same lens as Yashica but I forget the link. Until test them side by side, we cannot sure they are the same lens.

The later ML version is complete different than the early Yashica C/Y or M43 mirror lens. I sold my Yashica M42 after I tried the N Reflex-NIKKOR. The quality of Yashica 500 in M42 version is mediocre at best.
