Carl Zeiss Sonnar 4/135 for Contax on NEX-3

This is a late production post-war model, a superb lens, better than my 1957 Jupiter-11 copy and for my money, a tiny bit ahead of my 1958 Schneider Tele-Xenar 4/135.

With J11 for comparison.

#3 - the smoothness of a Sonnar's bokeh is a thing of beauty

#4 - even busy backgrounds are rendering in a smooth, painterly fashion

#5 - pixel level sharpness even wide open at distance
