Hello!
I received few days ago this interesting lens. It's a zoom lens designed by LOMO in 1970 for Konvas 1 KSR, the famous (and most used) soviet cinema camera.
I posted photos of the lens here : http://forum.mflenses.com/soviet-lenar-40-162mm-3-8-t75855.html
It's classical zoom construction, with a fixe lens (80mm) and front group acting like converter. I didn't expected much from a zoom from early years, but I find results not that bad at all (but naturely, we can't compare with prime lenses).
The lens doesn't not fully cover 24x36 (at any focal), but cover APS-C without problem exepted some vigneting at 40mm.
IQ is degrading on telephoto position (@162mm) whereas it's not bad from 40mm to 100mm (aprox).
Resolution (center/border) :
From 40mm to 100mm : 40/20
From 125mm to 162mm : 35/20
The lens on A7 :
