Hi all, as the title implies I have a question regarding the use of this lens on E-Mount. As I am considering getting one, but am totally new to RF style lenses, I wanted to get some feedback before I took the plunge. Are there straight adaptors for the RF version of this lens to E-Mount? I saw there were C-Mount to E available which would seem to work with the TV version. Are there any obstructions with the lens to using them this way on a NEX or A7 style body?
Thanks for thoughts. The A7 has me thinking of redoing my camera set-up, letting go of the A900 and some glass and going smaller. I've always 'dreamt' of the dream lens. _________________ kellysereda.com

Thanks for the link Calvin. I wondered about a different section, but also the use of the lens implied a wider discussion I thought. Either way, I presume no users of this on a NEX have any issues with physical clearance or such? I'm likely looking at the A7r myself. _________________ kellysereda.com

It is said that the TV version comes with a breech mount to C mount adapter but lacks the RF coupling cam. There should not be any issues if you use both RF or TV version on A7r with the above adapter. You can always ask the seller for compatibility before buying it.

There is a guy who makes adapters specifically for that lens:

Another question, if anyone knows - How to mount the TV lens (C-mount) version on an A7r. I see the mount essentially comes off, but then what? Convert to M and an adapter? I thought my conversion days were over, lol. Or hold out for a standard mount, I guess. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Very interesting. Glad to see it looks fairly natural on there actually. I was worried the lens might be... conspicuous. _________________ kellysereda.com

Are you referring the S-mount Canon used to substitute the term Lecia Thread Mount (LTM)?
http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/camera/lens/s/50-85.html
As long as the lens has the breech mount as shown in this link: http://www.taunusreiter.de/Cameras/Canon_RF_2e.html , it will fit the adapter mentioned above and works on A7(R). If you found a C-mount TV version does not have the exact breech mount after removing the adapter, post the link/photo here. _________________ https://lensfever.com/

TV lens, yes - http://www.ebay.com/itm/151171893799?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648
Looks to be in pretty good shape, but I don't think I'll persue modding anymore if I can avoid it. He has some good pictures of the mount in his auction. _________________ kellysereda.com

This lens has exactly the same breech mount and it should be exactly the same lens as shown in Paul Marbrook page. The elongated housing will not cause any problems on A7. I prefer the TV version on A7 because it is cheaper and the bokeh disc will be more perfect at full open. _________________ https://lensfever.com/

Thanks for the analysis Calvin. I'm am actively pursuing a suitable copy for use on my soon to be A7r, so hopefully some pics to share in the coming weeks.
