Well as luck would have it, the mirror lens arrived on Friday so of course it's rained and snowed all weekend. No real chance to test it in good light yet. But I did go out in the bad weather Saturday hoping for the best.
The lens is a Minolta RF 800/8.0 that Minolta made with a Leica R mount. I am using a standard Leica R to EOS adapter from fotodiox. One not, the lock pin on the adapter does not mate correctly with this lens. It works fine on my other Leica lenses though. I'm using a Canon 5D.
Anyway this shot was taken at ISO 1600 at 1/1250. The lens was just rested on the window frame of my van. I did not use a remote to fire it either. Light was terrible with a strong wind and some snow/rain falling.
I provided a RAW sample from the lens in my original post about this lens. This image was processed to see what I can pull out of it, I think from this image it's safe to say the lens has the potential for good shots when the light is good.
To process this I opened it with ACR and saved it at a TIFF. I then used the demo version of Neat Image to clean up the noise and saved it as a jpg. Then I adjusted levels, converted to LAB, enhanced color via curves in the A and B channel, increased saturation in the same channels, cropped it. Downsized the image then used smart sharpen. The image is nothing special but does show the potential of the lens I think.
