I was waiting for the lightning as we were in the middle of quite a storm Smile Apparently the best technique is to mount your camera on a tripod and use a long exposure, like you would for fireworks. But I didn't want to get my camera wet Laughing So I cheated with high ISO, wide lens and 1/30th second shutter speed to avoid blur Wink

P.s. I missed of the storm as I was looking after baby...it was an incredible display Shocked

this is fascinating

anyway, another trick is could be using the shutter speed 'B' and release the button straight after the 'boom'
