Bought this lens yesterday with a bunch of other lenses and bodies for a whopping 10$
I find it hard to focus (I don't have AF conform M42-EOS adapter or a split focus screen though) but when you manage to get the focus just right it doesn't dissappoint.
PP: adjusted exposure +1 stop and 25% sharpening to make up for sharpness loss due to resizing
Both f5,6
100+% crops

Congrats for the great deal! The second shot is really good, and sharpness is pretty good! I like colours and rendering too. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/58547200@N00/ |

Many of the Komine made Vivitars are very good indeed, as this one may well be.

Komine and Kiron ones. And those made by Tokina and Cosina. _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!

I have a Komine (s/n 28xxxx) -- the one with the metal focusing collar. I've found it to be a very good lens -- a bit heavy, but that's because of its stout construction. One of the nice things about it is it is a sleeper and thus can often be picked up for cheap. I think I paid $10 for mine. _________________ Michael

Yes, it seems that most 200mm Vivitars were made by Komine. Certainly all those that I have seen were.

The photos are nice. Could you please show the lens? There must be a dozen Vivitar 200/3.5. I know I have two which look nothing alike. |

Great lens and nice photos.
I do not know what I am doing wrong, but I am getting awful blue CA on many of my photos. And it is not very sharp on the ASP-C sensor. Color is great. And it is very hard to focus, indeed. But with some practice you can make a very nice pictures with it. |
