I'm not agree, this lens is incredible sharp (even wide open), at least my exemplar....
100% crop wide open, without any PP & without any sharpening of course:

It's fine to not agree as everyone has their own interpretation of what is acceptably sharp, but I find the images from the OP to be quite soft. _________________ Casual attendance these days |

It's all about resize & sharpening algorithm. Jupiter is darn sharp lens wide-open. Bright summer sun:
