In the 35/70 range there are some options.
mf. 35/70 3,5- fixed. Macro or not.
mf. 35/70 3,5-4,8
Af. 35/70 4 fixed.
Af. 35/70 3,5-4,5

Definitely the MD 3.5/35-70mm Macro - a superb lens!
Second? The same lens without the macro function.
Here is a shot taken with my macro version on a Sony NEX5N:-

The mf. 35/70 3,5-4,8 is very light as it's plastic construction and might work well on a Nex........but the mf. 35/70 3,5- fixed (Macro or not), is a superior lens as you can see the difference if you pixel peep when both are stopped down, although in one of my tests test (on film) of a brick wall from about 5ft away (and both @ f5.6), the F3.5 fixed was the winner for sharpness. _________________ Canon A1, AV1, T70 & T90, EOS 300 and EOS300v, Chinon CE and CP-7M. Please do not spread faulty information about those Minolta zoom lenses.
35-70/3.5 - 8 element / 7 group, MFD = 1m
35-70/3.5 macro - 8 element / 7 group, MFD = 0.8m, "compensating type" (not documented)
AF 35-70/4 - 6 element / 4 group, with an aspherical element _________________ Our Home Page has 18,200 photos in 575 directories today.

First, thank you koji.
Second, the intention is not to spread foulty things about anything.
I exposed at the forum some information. Never was affirmate only informate.
We are lucky, someone like you can turn on the light over us.
Anyways, the par between both zooms 3,5 and 4 were to the rendering, not over the schame.
And thank you, again |

The wall should be very useful to try lenses.
Your examples show clearly that the 3,5 win.
Thank you for sharing. |
